Local Nonprofit Creates Raffle Baskets in Support of COVID-19 and USS Bataan Sailors

NORFOLK, Va. – On Monday, April 6 local military charity, Troopster Military Care Packs, will launch a Hampton Roads exclusive virtual raffle in which participants can enter to win a hand-delivered ‘Boredom Basket’ to their home. All proceeds of the raffle will be used to send care packages in support of the forward-deployed USS Bataan (LHD-5). Sailors onboard the USS Bataan reached out to Troopster to request care package support and to share their distress with COVID-19.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – On Saturday, November 16th Troopster Donations is holding its 4th Annual Community Holiday Pack Event at Beach Side Social in Virginia Beach, to pack and send more than 1,000 care packages to Sailors deployed onboard the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) for Christmas. The event is a community-wide volunteer event, open to the public. Participants will get a chance to pack, make and decorate more than 1,000 care packages that will be shipped, same day, to the Sailors of the forward-deployed carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72).

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASESunday, October 6, 2019 Local Restaurant Holds Fundraisers to Support Deployed Troops NORFOLK, VIRGINIA - On Sunday, October 6th  Southern Eats Restaurant is opening their doors to host a community fundraiser to raise money to send care packages to deployed U.S. Troops. Southern Eats has partnered with local charity Troopster Military Care Packs,  to offer chef-selected entrees of three choices to be purchased at $35 per plate. 100% of the profit for each plate purchased will be donated to send a care package to a deployed U.S. service member. Each plate will directly support an individual U.S. troop deployed overseas. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m.
