Memorial Day and Troopster

It’s easy to get caught up in the delicious barbeques and beginning of summer festivities associated with Memorial Day.  But, it’s also important to reflect on the sacrifices this holiday commemorates.  While Veterans Day honors all individuals who have served, Memorial Day honors those who have given the last full measure of devotion, dying in service to this great nation.

Give Back on Memorial Day

With that said, we at Troopster ask that you step away from your Memorial Day celebrations for a moment and reflect on the true meaning of this holiday.  Reflect on the sacrifices made by the American men and women lost in the wars our country has fought.  And, if you’re so inclined, we would ask that you consider supporting those service members currently overseas as a way to honor their fallen brothers and sisters.  As a 501(c)(3)-registered charitable corporation, Troopster offers two options to provide this support.  You can either adopt a troop by purchasing a donation care package, or, you can make a direct monetary contribution that will go towards buying and shipping care packages to deployed troops lacking loved ones at home.  Both options are tax deductible.  And, all administrative expenses incurred by our charity are paid by our veteran-owned, for-profit business, Troopster, so every penny of every dollar you donate will go to supporting deployed troops.

I’d Like to Support a Deployed Troop on Memorial Day - How Does This Work?

Troopster keep a running (and ever-expanding) list of deployed service members who, without the support of loved ones at home, request free care packages directly from our organization.  If you’d like to support one of these troops with a Memorial Day care package, you make the monetary contribution or purchase the donation box, and we handle the rest.  When you use military mail to ship items to deployed service members, the actual shipping is handled by USPS and can take anywhere from two to four weeks to arrive, depending on where the service member is stationed.  So, to be safe, if you’d like a donation box to arrive by Memorial Day, we recommend making your contribution to Troopster by late April.

I Have a Loved One Overseas and Would Like to Send a Memorial Day Package

Great!  As veterans ourselves, we can vouch for how much it means to receive care packages while deployed overseas, especially on holidays.  So, if you have a loved one overseas who you’d like to send a care package for Memorial Day, our for-profit business, Troopster, is here to help. Pick from a variety of the below,, personalize with notes and photos from home, and pay - that’s it!  We handle all the customs forms and shipping for you.
